My publications
I have written for a variety of academic, social movement, and popular outlets.
My teaching
I teach a wide variety of courses in US and Latin American History at Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana. Many of my courses focus on histories of race, racism, and anti-racism. I love teaching history because understanding change in the past can help us make society better in the present and future.
About me
I am an assistant professor of history at Manchester University. I am a life-long midwesterner: I was born in Wisconsin, received a BA in Philosophy at Carleton College in Minnesota, and got my PhD in History at the University of Illinois in 2016. I write and teach about Chicago’s Puerto Rican community, Latina/o/x social movements in the second half of the 20th century, and the roles of race, racism and anti-racism in United States history.
